Spanish
Michael B. Santee is licensed to teach Spanish and French. This is his tenth year at Chippewa Schools. During the 2011-12 academic year, Mr. Santee is teaching all four levels of Spanish and a new course - French 1 Skills. Spanish 1-4 focus equally on the four functions of language: speaking, writing, listening, and reading. Students in Spanish 1 develop basic communication skills and learn to function in everyday situations. In Spanish 2, students build upon the skills acquired in first year and learn to function in a wider range of situations. Readings focus on Hispanic countries and cultures - from Spain to Argentina, from restaurant etiquette to school systems. Students receive college credit for Spanish 3 through Wayne College and for Spanish 4 from The University of Akron. Students have the opportunity to earn 14 college credits which are accepted by any public university in Ohio.
